Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial to Life, Oct. 24-28


The Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial to Life, a cross-campus display at California State University San Marcos, will commemorate the deaths resulting from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, now in their 7th and 9th years. By remembering individual Iraqi and Afghan civilians and U.S. military personnel who were killed in the wars, the memorial calls on viewers to consider the cost of war in terms of human lives, across and beyond national boundaries.  All events are free and open to the public.

  • Monday through Thursday, Oct. 25-28: Memorial on display across campus.
  • Sunday, Oct. 24, 7:00 p.m.: Dedication ceremony, Library Plaza.
  • Monday, Oct. 25, 7:00-9:00 p.m.: Memorial to Life Evening Program with speakers and performers, Clarke Field House/University Student Union, Grand Salon.
  • Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 26 and 28, 12:00-1:00 p.m.(Uuniversity Hour):  Speakers and performers on the outdoor stage, Library Plaza.

Sponsored by the CSUSM Human Development Club and organized by a group of concerned CSUSM students.

University Hour programs will take place on Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 26 and 28, from  12:00 to 12:50 p.m.
